music aficionados challenge: asian cubrafros

This post is a direct appeal for help from music aficionados.  Have you heard of the Asian Cubrafros (or Cubafros)?  If so, please enlighten!

The Asian Cubrafros appeared in concert under the auspices of the Jazz Workshop series sponsored by the New Thing Art & Architecture Center, an amazing institution founded by Topper Carew.  The concert was held at St. Margaret's Church, Connecticut Avenue, NW and Bancroft Place.

Did you attend the concert? Were you a member of St Margaret's in 1968?  Do you remember the New Thing Art & Architecture Center?
