Thanks to Ibram H. Rogers and his book The Black Campus Movement (2012), I'm able to share another resource with you:  The Eagle, the student newspaper at American University.

I found the article above about American University students participating in a protest at the South African Embassy in the archive.  Apparently, American University was a hotbed of activism before and after 1968.  

The Organization of African and Afro-American Students at AU (OASATAU) was founded in 1968. Claudia Asbury, Walter "Moose" Foster, in the photo above, and Grigsby Hubbard were members. They and Joe Miles, former student & Eagle photo editor, participated in the protest on 21 March to mark the 8th anniversary of the Sharpeville massacre.  The protest began at Howard University.  I'm excited to learn more about students across universities coming together to organize.
