4 october 1968 & black unitarian universalist caucus @all souls unitarian
#OTD 4 October 1968 All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church (15th & Harvard Sts NW) was abuzz over the meeting held three days ago on 1 October to discuss the Black Unitarian Universalist Caucus (BUUC).
The items discussed at the meeting included: 1) planning for a worship service at All Souls; 2) exploration of ways for the church to relate meaningfully to the Howard University students residing in nearby Meridian Hill Hotel -- now a Howard women's dormitory; 3) further discussion of the permanent organization of BUUC. Miss Barbara Patterson, Assistant Dean at Howard, attended the meeting.
