10 december 1968 & centro católico hispano dedicated

#OTD 10 December 1968 The Centro Católico Hispano, a new center to serve Spanish-speaking residents in the Cardozo area was dedicated at 4pm. Sponsored by the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, the center was in the Kenesaw Apartment building (16th & Irving Sts, NW). The center will offer English classes for residents, as well as referrals and other services, and Spanish classes for police and fire departments, and other public agencies.
