21 november 1968 anniversary of bernie boston's flower power photograph
21 November 1968 Thirteen months ago today, Bernie Boston took this now iconic photograph at an anti-war protest at the Pentagon. Titled Flower Power and photographed during the “March on the Pentagon, Boston was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
While Boston knew that he had taken an incredible image, the Washington Star editor did not. As a result, he the photographed was buried deep in the paper. It was only after Boston entered the photograph in competitions, that it was recognized.
