#OTD Sunday 11 March 1968 Bishop Marie Reed pastored at her Sacred Heart Spiritual Church (Seaton Place, NW), which she incorporated in 1948. She was also supervising bishop of the Mount Canaan Spiritual Conference, comprising 14 churches in DC and New York.

Sunday services included:
10am Sunday School
12:30pm Worship
8:30pm Preaching
First Sundays 8:30pm Communion

Wednesday services included:
8:30pm Bible Class

Friday services included:
7pm Junior Class
8:30pm Preaching, Healing & Prophecy

Bishop Reed was a member of the elected Morgan Community School Board, considered the first community-run school board to set policy and select staff in DC, and one of the first in the U.S. She was a committed activist in the Adams Morgan neighborhood.
