#OTD-ish 14 May 1968 This car with a hand-made poster, stating PEOPLE POWER=BLACK POWER, affixed to it was parked in front of the SNCC office (1234 U St, NW). The building which housed SNCC was owned by Elder Lightfoot Solomon Michaux, who founded an independent Church of God, was a prolific real estate investor and housing developer, and apparently an FBI informant against Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Your comments are welcome below. Do you, a family member or a neighbor recognize the person getting into the car? Do you remember seeing the car? Did you work at SNCC? Do you remember what else was in this building? Did you know Elder Michaux? Were you a member of his church? You may comment privately here.
