Take part in a historic gathering of alumni of The New Thing Art & Architecture Center—a cutting-edge community-based arts and urban planning organization that operated in Adams Morgan from 1966-1973—for a film screening and panel discussion. The New Thing founder—filmmaker, architect, and activist Topper Carew—will be joined by former staff and students for a discussion led by curator Samir Meghelli about the history and impact of this legendary DC institution. Film screening (The New Thing by Michael Bortman, 1970, 14 minutes) followed by panel discussion.
